Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) Removal

Aboveground Storage Tanks... the Danger in Plain Sight!

Many people believe that because they store their fuel oil in an aboveground storage tank, that the risk of leakage is minimal. In many cases, the opposite is true. In some cases, the hazards are even worse. Even an aboveground storage tank that appears to be only slightly rusty could be on the verge of leaking. Many older ASTs are constructed of welded 3/16" steel, which is unprotected from the elements, except for a light coat of original paint. A closer look reveals that the weld seams begin to corrode, threatening the integrity of the tank. The real danger of an aboveground tank leak is that even a small hole can empty the tank completely in a matter of hours, before anyone realizes what is happening. Remove the threat before it becomes a disaster. The cost for this type of job is relatively inexpensive, and the safety and peace-of-mind is priceless.

Contact our office for a free evaluation and estimate to replace your old steel AST with a Roth Safety Tank, the standard in fuel oil safety.
